In recent years car technology has jumped ahead in leaps and bounds.
But one area seems to be lacking and that’s the car-human connection.
Sure we now have voice control systems (which are generally useless!) but we are in the main still pushing buttons and turning knobs when we want to change a vehicle setting.
That situation may however be about to change forever.
At the upcoming Beijing Motor Show the Chinese motoring giants BYD are set to show off their latest in-car feature – a dashboard robot!
It’s anticipated the Robot will be a regular inclusion in the future models of BYD’s hybrid Qin (pronounced Chin).
The robot will apparently pop out of the dash when needed and will work as a terminal for communicating with BYD’s networking system which controls the cars wireless internet, location services and music downloads.
More details are set to be announced in coming days.
Looks pretty interesting doesn’t it?
Let’s just hope they don’t program the little robot to be a nag “don’t you think you’re going just a little too fast?” I can hear it say!
