2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC Scores Top Safety Rating - the new mid-size Mercedes-Benz SUV lands in Australia with top safety credentials.

The European crash testing authority has just handed the new 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC range a maximum five-star safety rating.

The new mid-size Mercedes-Benz SUV, which is arriving in Australian dealerships now, achieved five-stars for occupant safety, child safety, pedestrian protection and its assistance systems.

Euro NCAP said the Mercedes-Benz GLC offers best possible protection for more vulnerable road users.

Picking up kudos for its suite of active and passive safety systems, including the Intelligent Drive concept, featuring Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Crosswind Assist, Headlamp Assist and Attention Assist, Mercedes-Benz Head of Vehicle Safety, Prof. Rodolfo Schöneburg, welcomed the safety score.

“The new GLC’s gratifying result in the Euro NCAP rating confirms the success of our efforts in the areas of active and passive safety,”

“We will continue to intensify our efforts in the future, so as to provide the best possible safety not only for drivers and passengers in a Mercedes-Benz, but also for more vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.”

The new 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC is priced from $64,400.
