There’s a new entry into the performance SUV market in Australia with the long-awaited Audi SQ7 TDI now arriving.
Confirmed for Australia back in March, Australian buyers can now grab the keys to a turbo-diesel powered SQ7 and prices kick-off from $153,616.
The 2017 Audi SQ7 TDI lands with potent 320kW/900Nm 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine.
Audi is talking 0-100km/h times of just 4.9 seconds and fuel consumption as low as 7.2L/100km.
The new Audi offering also boasts a unique 48-volt electrical system that runs in parallel with the standard 12-volt system.
The higher capacity circuit is used to power an electric compressor that acts like a supercharger to drive the turbochargers when exhaust gas pressure is insufficient.
It also powers a unique suspension system that uses electric motors to apply torque to the front and rear anti-roll bars.
Audi telling us this new system ensures tight body control.
Audi Australia boss Andrew Doyle says the new performance-focussed seven-seat SUV is a special vehicle.
“This landmark vehicle debuts three innovative new technologies that have never been seen before in a production car. They combine to make the SQ7 TDI a vehicle without equal.
“For our customers, this extraordinary vehicle will fulfil the desire for the latest innovative technology solution, at the same time as delivering unmatched versatility in a highly attractive value package.”
