Next-generation Lexus LS longer and lower than current edition…

Lexus is stretching the flagship Lexus LS sedan in this new 5th generation model coming our way early next year.

The 2018 Lexus LS was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show today and Lexus tell us the new model brings new levels of luxury, sophistication and satisfaction.

Under the bonnet of the new edition model will be an all-new twin-turbo 3.5 litre V6 engine that produces a hefty 310kW/600Nm.

While that power and torque will be delivered to the rear wheels via a 10-speed auto transmission.

Built on the same platform as the Lexus LC 500 Coupe, Lexus is promising greater handling agility and performance feel without sacrificing comfort.

LS chief engineer Toshio Asahi says the new flagship sedan is step above LS vehicles of the past.

“Not only will the LS symbolise the Lexus brand, it will become the definitive new-generation luxury car embodying Japanese tradition and culture,”

“As such, this global pinnacle must go far beyond what the world expects from a luxury car.”

We will bring you more details on the new Lexus LS in our Lexus LS News section as it comes to hand.
