Australian pricing, specs confirmed for Range Rover Velar

All-new Range Rover model to land in coming weeks

The Range Rover family is about to expand to four models with local Land Rover dealerships set to welcome the Range Rover Velar.

Sitting above the Evoque, and below Range Rover Sport, the five-seat only Velar will be priced from $70,662.

Land Rover has just confirmed the model line-up for the new offering, including the final engine range (details below).

The new offering will be available in Standard, S, SE or HSE specifications, along with a flagship ‘First Edition’ version.

Some of the stand-out features that the new offering boasts include the distinctive flush door handles, up to 22” alloy wheels, and fully digital infotainment system and instrument panel.

An active locking rear diff and Terrain Response 2 system ensure the model has better than decent off-road ability.

While many potential buyers will be interested in the towing capacity – the Velar is rated to up to 2,500kg.

2018 Range Rover Velar Engines:

  • 132kW/430Nm four-cylinder diesel
  • 177kW/500Nm four-cylinder diesel
  • 184kW/365Nm four-cylinder petrol
  • 221kW/400Nm four-cylinder petrol (coming later in the year)
  • 280kW/450Nm V6 diesel

An eight-speed auto transmission will feature as standard across all variants.

Land Rover Chief Design Officer, Gerry McGovern, says the Velar is a special vehicle.

“It brings a new dimension of glamour, modernity and elegance to the brand. The Range Rover Velar changes everything.”
