Fuel prices are down, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping car buyers in the US from having a hunger for hybrids and electric vehicles (EVs).
iSeeCars.com reports five of the top 10 fastest selling used cars in the first half of the year were hybrids or EVs.
At the top of the heap was the Toyota Prius, which is leaving used car lots quicker than any other model.
The other models in the top three easiest cars to sell category were the electric models - Nissan LEAF and Tesla Model S.
The publication found cars that were between one and three years old, overall, took an average of 42.4 days to sell.
But the top 10 fastest selling cars moved off lots far quicker - ranging from just 19.7 days for the Prius to 29.4 days for the Lexus CT 200h.
iSeeCars.com CEO Phong Ly said the hybrids and EVs are proving popular and easy for dealerships to sell for a number of reasons, but primarily because the supplies of these vehicles are short.
Other models that were found to be snapped up quickly buy used car buyers included the Hyundai Veloster Turbo (27.8 days), Infiniti QX60 (27.9 days), Lexus RX 350 (29.7 days) and Mazda2 (29.9 days).
