DAF Trucks Enjoy Growing Popularity

2015 proves successful year in Australia for DAF Trucks.

DAF Trucks Enjoy Growing Popularity - the launched 2016 DAF LF range.

DAF is one of the relatively new players in the Australian truck market, though despite tacking an extremely competitive market, DAF has reported ever-increasing local sales.

Offering a line-up of trucks in Australia ranging from the 12-tonne LF 250, right through to the XF 105 Prime Mover, parent company Paccar, say they are delighted with the Australian response to the DAF brand.

PACCAR Australia’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Andrew Hadjikakou, admits the Japanese and European rivals are proving tough competition, but says sales are very much heading in the right direction.

“Last year saw the DAF brand enjoy a record market share year in Australia,”

“It’s positive affirmation from the market that DAF is increasingly being considered by operators wanting a reliable, comfortable and efficient truck that is suitable for a broad range of medium and heavy duty applications.

“As well as offering these attributes, DAF is a leader in innovation – the latest DAF models are brimming with technology, safety features and driving aids designed to make life on the road safer, more efficient and overall, more enjoyable for the driver.

“The latest Euro 5 LF range in clear evidence of the direction the DAF brand is heading in this regard.”

Safety features available in DAF Trucks Australia:

  • Electronic Braking System (EBS)
  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Hill Start Aid
  • Driver air-bag
  • Seatbelt pre-tensioners
  • Anti-Slip Control (ASR)
  • Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Tyre pressure indicator and Side-view camera system.

In coming years DAF is looking to increase its range of trucks available in Australia, according to Mr Hadjikakou.
