The truck, a 15.2 litre/560hp MAN TGX D38, has been handed over to Dardania Transport.
The transport business will be putting the rig to work transporting raw ingredients for confectionery production in Lithgow on the western edge of the NSW Blue Mountains.
The operation is familiar with the MAN product after previously owning a MAN TGS 480 and was impressed when trialling the new-gen truck before purchase.
“We’ve had a very positive history with MAN.” says Dardania co-owner, Tim Dardania.
“The D38 is a very impressive vehicle and after trialing other European competitors, it seemed far more capable for the job at hand.
“We carry heavy loads up to Lithgow and return, so engine horsepower and torque are important features for us,”
“The load over the mountain exerts a great deal of stress on trucks and this is where the true performance of a truck shines through.”
