Honda Jazz air-bag recall

Honda Jazz becomes latest model recalled with air-bag issues.

The fault could see the Honda Jazz air-bags not perform as expected in a crash.

There’s been a run of air-bag related recalls in recent times and now the Honda Jazz is also affected.

The recall will affect 2004 models of the Jazz GLI, VTi and VTi-S, the ACCC recall notice stating that the driver’s front air-bag inflator propellants may have been exposed to air and absorbed moisture.

This will result in the combustion speed increasing rapidly and in the case of an accident the air-bag might not deploy as designed and therefore may not reduce injury to a passenger, or fractured parts might fly apart and cause injury to an occupant.

Owners of the affected Honda Jazz vehicles will be contacted by mail and Honda Australia will replace the driver’s front air-bag.
