Honda might have got its act together with a range of much more interesting and enjoyable cars than what was on offer a few years ago, but the range has still been missing something to get excited about.

Returning to Australia after a six-year absence, the first 2018 Honda Civic Type R cars have begun arriving on Australia docks and will be in dealerships in coming weeks.
We will be at the Australian launch of the five-door hot hatch and will bring you a full first drive review.
2018 Honda Civic Type R Key Data:
- Powered by 228kW/400Nm 2.0 litre turbo-petrol engine
- Close-ratio six-speed manual transmission
- Adaptive dampers
- Brembo brake package
- 20” alloy wheels
Priced from $50,990 (check out Aussie pricing and specs details here), Honda Australia boss, Stephen Collins, tells us pre-orders for the Type R have been very strong.
“Since the Civic Type R prototype was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last year, the anticipation surrounding Honda’s next-generation high-performance hot hatch has continued to build,”
“It’s incredibly exciting to have the first cars here now and it won’t be long until we’ll start to see them out on the road.
“The all-new Civic Type R showcases the very best that Honda can produce in a front-wheel drive performance car.”
