New Kia Sorento SUV our best car of 2015.
After publishing more than 200 new car reviews this year the Behind the Wheel team has named the Kia Sorento as 2015 Car of the Year.
After naming a field of finalists that included other 2015 new releases including the Jaguar XE, Nissan Navara NP300, Volvo XC90 and Hyundai Sonata, Behind the Wheel General Manager, Joel Helmes, said the new Kia Sorento was the best of the bunch.
“Enjoyable and easy to drive with very car-like driving dynamics, Kia’s seven year warranty, generous standard features, five star safety and a remarkably roomy cabin are just some of the 2015 Kia Sorento highlights.”
Previous winners of the Behind the Wheel Car of the Year Award:
- 2014 – Volkswagen Golf
- 2013 – Holden Commodore VF
- 2012 – Hyundai Elantra
- 2011 – Kia Optima
Fellow Behind the Wheel Car of the Year judge, Simon Lai, said he was hard pressed to find anything wrong with the Sorento.
“Loaded with comfort and safety features (including cool stuff like proximity tailgate and heated steering wheel in some models) the Sorento is quieter than its predecessor with agile, car-like handling and possess surprising power, especially in the diesel.
“Features, safety, value for money, seven seats, seven year warranty and a great drive; who could ask for more.”
This is the second time a Kia vehicle has won the Car of the Year award given annually by the popular automotive website, podcast and radio show after the Kia Optima took the top award back in 2011.
The Kia Sorento seven-seat SUV is priced from $45,990.
