Mazda CX-5 sees one million car milestone - the Mazda CX-5 is Australia’s most popular SUV model.

The Mazda CX-5 has become the second fastest Mazda model to reach the significant one million car production milestone.

The most popular SUV model in Australia (across all SUV categories), the Mazda CX-5 first went into production in November 2011 and only the Mazda3 has been created in the same volume in less time.

Built in factories in Japan, China, Russia, Malaysia and Vietnam, the Mazda CX-5 recently received an update for 2015, you can check out those details here.

Masashi Otsuka, Program Manager of the Mazda CX-5 says its humbling to see such a strong response to the model in such short time.

“I am delighted to see the CX-5 reach the one-million-unit mark in only three years and five months,”

“We are committed to continue enhancing this model into the future to ensure that it remains a popular choice among people with active lifestyles, and will appeal to even more customers in the future.”

The Mazda CX-5 is priced from $27,190 in Australia and is offered with a choice of 2.0 and 2.5 litre petrol engines and a 2.2 litre turbo-diesel.
