Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe seat-belt recall

Incorrect seat-belts may have been fitted to Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe.

Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe seat-belt recall - there are concerns about the operation of front seat-belts in 53 vehicles.

Owners of Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe vehicles can expect a letter from Mercedes-Benz asking them to return their vehicle to a dealerships to have the front seat-belts inspected.

Affecting a total of 53 vehicles sold in Australia, the Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe seat-belt recall was launched after it was determined that in some vehicles the seat-belts may have been incorrectly fitted during production.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission recall notice says that this may affect the locking behaviour of the belt and result in incorrect operation of the seat-belt pre-tensioning system.

If the defect occurs, the seat-belt may not restrain the occupant to the full capacity during an accident, increasing the risk of injury.

Letters will be sent to owners of affected Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe vehicles.
