Nissan LEAF gets extended 250km range - the new 30kWh battery gets LEAF owners a range of about 250km on a single charge.

Nissan has added a new battery to the Nissan LEAF electric car that extends the EVs driving range up to 250 kilometres.

The new LEAF 30 kWh battery weights 21kgs more than the previous 24kWh battery, yet is able to keep the EV going an extra 25% on a single charge.

Paul Willcox is the Chairman of Nissan Europe, he says the new 2016 Nissan LEAF is the most capable and practical electric vehicle in the world, and the best value too.

“The LEAF, the best-selling EV in the world, just got even better.

“And up-to 250km (155 miles) opens the world of EV to thousands of drivers across Europe who before just weren’t completely confident that an EV would work for them.

“This extra range will make LEAF ownership an easy first choice, for many, many more drivers.”
