Australia-bound Honda SUV earns top safety score…
The award-winning new-generation Honda CR-V has been handed a ‘Top Safety Pick+’ safety rating in the U.S., but only when fitted with LED headlights and a crash prevention system.
Set to launch in Australia a little later in the year, the U.S. crash testing authority, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), said the 2018 Honda CR-V earned the maximum rating after performing well in crash tests.
To achieve the top safety score in the U.S. the vehicle must achieve a good rating in front, side, roof strength and head restraint test, and have an available front crash prevention system.
The CR-V was found to perform well in all those crash tests, while the variants fitted with the frontal crash protection system (Honda Sensing) were given a ‘superior’ rating.
The standard headlights were found to have an ‘acceptable’ rating.
We will bring you more details on the all-new Honda CR-V as they come to hand, including Australian availability, pricing and specification details.
