Seat track fault sees Fiat 500/Abarth 500 recalled

Issue with front seats sees all Fiat/Abarth 500 vehicles recalled

A potentially serious fault has been identified in the front seat tracks fitted to both Fiat 500 and Abarth 500 vehicles.

The recall affects all versions of the tiny Italian twins and is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

The ACCC recall notice advising that the issue relates to the possible non-conformity of the right front seat guide tracks.

What are the hazards?

If the front seat guide tracks do not comply with safety standards it may cause the front seat to shift backwards or forwards suddenly in the event of an accident and potentially cause additional injuries

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Australia will notify affected Fiat/Abarth owners who can take their vehicle to a Fiat dealership whereby the vehicle will be repaired.
