Four-door sedan lap record for WRX

6:57.5, that’s now the time to beat on the Nürburgring for four-door sedans, that record time belonging to a heavily tweaked Subaru WRX.

In news just coming to hand, Subaru has just confirmed the new lap record time for the Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special.

The record time has just been officially verified by track officials.

The WRX was the same time attack car that set a new lap record on the Isle of Man TT course (seen below), and the Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb.

Powered by a rally spec 2.0 litre Boxer engine and Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, the custom-built race car is based on a stock 2017 WRX STI.

It features a full roll cage, modified engine running 25psi of boost that develops 447kW and redesigned aerodynamics package, including a rear wing similar to the technology found in F1 cars.
