Citroen SUV joins Peugeot, Mitsubishi recalls…
Just over 250 Citroen C4 Aircross SUVs sold in Australia are being recalled over a potentially injury-causing tailgate fault.
The recall affects Citroen SUVs sold in Australia between the 1st of June 2012 and the 31st of December 2013 and is being overseen by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
News that the Citroen version of the SUV has also been recalled won’t come as a surprise to most of those owners – the Mitsubishi and Peugeot versions of essentially the same vehicle have also been required back at a dealership to fix the issue.

The recall notice advising owners that an insufficient anti corrosion coating was applied to the end cap on the outer tube of the tailgate gas springs, which may cause corrosion.
What are the hazards?
Corrosion may result in the end cap breaking and hitting the operator and/or the tailgate falling down suddenly, resulting in an injury or a potential accident.
Affected Citroen C4 Aircross owners will be contacted by direct mail and asked to arrange an appointment with their preferred Citroen authorised dealer to have the vehicle inspected and the replacement parts installed.
