U.S. launch gives hints on 2018 Subaru Liberty

Refreshed Subaru Liberty lands in U.S.

A refreshed 2018 Subaru Liberty will land soon in Australia and will try to make some greater inroads in the fiercely-competitive mid-size passenger car race.

Slipping back to less than 200 sales per month (down more than 30% over 2016 totals), the Liberty has previously been one of the segments best performing models.

Subaru Australia hoping the updated Liberty finds more buyers.

Just hitting the market in the U.S. now (where it is known as the Subaru ‘Legacy’), the refreshed 2018 Subaru model will continue to be powered by a 130kW 2.5 litre boxer engine.

A CVT will also feature exclusively.

Australian buyers are also likely to continue to be offered the six-cylinder engine/CVT version into 2018 as well.

The car will look slightly different though with a new front fascia, grille, side mirrors, and rear bumper design.

The interior is expected to be available in the new Titanium Gray colour (not yet confirmed for Australia).

While Subaru tell us the Liberty cabin will be quieter and a tyre pressure monitoring system will be standard.

Updated versions of the Subaru infotainment system will also feature and will boast Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

We’ll bring you more details on the 2018 Subaru Liberty as they come to hand and you can easily stay updated in our Subaru Liberty News section.
