
While Australian car production is winding up, over in the UK it’s a very different situation.
New manufacturing data out of the UK shows the nations car production plants are churning out cars at a rate 26% above the same month last year.
Since 2010 UK car production has increased by more than a third with more than 1.6 million cars expected to be produced in Britain this year.
UK car production in 2016 so far is now 13.6% ahead of the same period last year.
About three-quarters of all cars built in the UK are exported, including to Australia.
British built cars in Australian showrooms in 2016 include models from Jaguar, Land Rover, Nissan, Infiniti and MINI.
