Volvo shows new smaller model concepts

Volvo is on the up and plans to sell a lot more cars in coming years, to do that though they need more models to join the impressive XC90 and keenly anticipated new S90.

The Swedish brand has just unveiled two new concept smaller cars that will be part of that growth strategy.

Both will be built on the same platform and are expected to go into production next year and arrive in Australia some time in 2018.

The Volvo 40 series concepts includes an electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid.

Kevin McCann, Managing Director of Volvo Car Australia, tells us the smaller models will boast a full range of innovative connectivity services, plus Scandinavian interior design.

“Our new expanded range of smaller cars will improve and broaden Volvo’s presence in an important and growing market segment in Australia and around the world,”

“The new generation 40 series will benefit from those advanced technologies, and the result will be a very distinctive small car that will stand out from the crowd.”

We will keep you updated on the development of these new Volvo models.
